Greetings Tenno!

Garuda Prime slices her way onto all platforms today, and we’ve got a few Riven changes to help with all the bloodletting and violence.

A few points of order:

  • The weapons that were released along with our last Prime Access, Knell Prime and Scourge Prime, were found to be taking the base weapon’s disposition instead of starting at 0.5. Instead of resetting their disposition to 0.5 after already launching, they shall follow the usual procedure from here on out.
  • Since it has been awhile since we’ve stated that usual procedure, we wanted to share these rules in ...

Players who have completed The War Within quest will be familiar with Riven Mods. These special weapon Mods with randomized stat rolls offer powerful customization options from the mysterious Cephalon Samodeus. Those who have been with us a bit longer may have noticed that the stats on these Mods can change over time - we wanted to outline the reasons for that, and share some Riven facts you may not already know!

Each weapon has a unique “Disposition”, applied as a multiplier on your Riven’s stat rolls. Any weapon that you own a Riven for will have Riven Disposition “dots” in the Arsenal, indicating strength - the higher the number, the stronger the stats.

Fixes:

  • Fixed a crash when loading into Plains of Eidolon and a squadmate leaves.
  • Fixed a script error when scanning an Oculyst in the Sealab Mobile Defense tileset.
  • Fixed loss of camera control in the War Within Quest if you entered Void Mode just as you were being devoured by something golden.
  • Fixed weapons with Multishot (especially innate multishot like on shotguns or beam weapons) having a higher damage increase from Galvanized Aptitude/Shot per Status type as intended.
    • Essentially, the total damage bonus was being added to each individual projectile, resulting in damage numbers far beyond the intended amount.
  • Fixed a script error that could occur if an ally Kuva Lich was present while returning to town.

Missed Change:
Re-capitalized active Warframe, Pet, and Weapon names, meaning anythi...

Greetings Tenno!

After a long absence due to top-secret New War developments, we’re trying our hand at another Semi-Public Test Cluster weekend. Last year’s updates didn’t lend themselves well to public tests, so we are trying to shake off our cobwebs early with a smaller, simpler Mainline test. Please read the thread in full before replying!

  1. We will be using Steam Keys to access "Warframe Test" - make sure you have a Steam account!
  2. We will be running all surveys and posts in English - you must understand English to participate.
  3. Despite our best efforts, console accounts cannot be copied to our PC test server, so only PC Warframe accounts will be chosen to participate - sorry!
  4. We will be asking for targeted feedback specific to two parts of this Mainline update: general stability, and a 'The New War' Quest related item. Only players who have completed ‘The New War’ will be selected. All players will be ...

Nidus Prime Access brings the master of mutation to the Origin System. Riven Mods are of a similar sort - constantly mutating and evolving - and this Prime Access is no different.

The Sisters of Parvos update introduced many new powerful weapons, the Tenet series, which caused a period of volatility in usage stats. We are still evaluating the strength of these weapons, but have done our best to add power where it seemed appropriate.

We’ve also taken this opportunity to slightly change how we calculate Riven values internally, in terms of the tools we use. This change, combined with shifting trends, means that this disposition update adjusts more numbers than usual (but nothing too extreme!)

Without further ado, here’s what to expect in the update:

Gara Prime Access has arrived to shatter our expectations, and with it come another set of Riven disposition changes. Similar to last time, we have refrained from any gun reductions, and only a couple melee weapons are still in need of downward adjustments.

Most of you know the process by now, so let’s dive right in - thanks for reading!

Warframe currently offers 22 different classes of melee weapon for players to choose from, but Glaives hold a special place in the game’s history. First introduced in Digital Extremes’ 2008 title Dark Sector, Hayden Tenno’s unique and vicious playstyle captures the hearts and imaginations of many.

A lot has changed in the twelve years since that game was released: Warframe has gone through many major reworks, including complete melee overhauls, and the addition of a “Glaive + Gun” combo system. With several overlapping systems at play, Glaive gameplay was no longer consistent, working differently depending on how it was used. This revisit intends to combine these two modes, preserving and enhancing the best parts of both.

Many of these changes focus on enhancing the unique gameplay options that a Glaive can offer. We’ll start simple with throwing mechanics, and work o...

Yesterday, we released the Nights of Naberus update across all console platforms. Unfortunately, this update accidentally featured some Riven disposition changes that were scheduled to be released with Nezha Prime Access. We sincerely apologize for the unexpected tricks and treats!

These changes have since been removed from all consoles, but in the interest of transparency, we wanted to share the exact changes you can expect when this update returns to all platforms. All of the trends explained in ...

Inaros Prime Access has blown in from the sandstorm - and with it comes a new set of Riven disposition changes! We’ve recently altered our procedure in response to player feedback, so let’s go over the numbers in a little more detail:

  • We understand that reducing disposition on existing weapons is never popular - that’s why all new weapons since The Deadlock Protocol have been introduced with...

Greetings Tenno!

With the upcoming release of The Deadlock Protocol, we wanted to outline some further changes we are making to the Riven disposition process in response to player feedback.

When we introduced separate dispositions for each weapon variant back in November 2019, we planned to give new weapons a disposition of 1 (the “average”), or matching the lowest member of the weapon family if it already had a disposition lower than 1. Unfortunately, this meant that powerful new weapons (like the Kuva Lich collection) might have Rivens that start too strong, forcing reductions in accordance with our balance methodology.

In order to prevent this situation, we will be changing this policy: going forward, all new weapons will be released with the minimum Riven disposition of 0.5. For The Deadlock Protocol, this includes the dispositions on newly added primary kitguns, in addition to regular weapons (secondary ...

Greetings Tenno!

We hope you’re having fun Vanquishing Kuva Liches left and right on PC (update coming to consoles in the near future, stay tuned for updates!)

As this new system was mostly aimed at experienced players with a wide arsenal, the Kuva weapons earned from Liches are top-of-the-line statwise. However, most were based on older weapons that didn’t see as much use by players at higher Mastery Ranks. As a result, players who equip a Riven on one of these Kuva weapons may notice a slight discrepancy.... Rivens have lowered stats on Kuva weapons, because they have a different disposition.

This is a change we have wanted to make regarding Rivens for awhile, and Kuva Lich weapons presented the perfect opportunity to make it a reality....

Hail Tenno!

Today we’ve got a double shot of Warframe rework goodness. You may want to make a snack; we’re gonna be here awhile.

The subjects of today’s Workshop are two of our oldest frames, and as such, many of our players are very invested in their continued viability. We have listened at length to your feedback, and hope to have struck a balance between adding new features and facelifting old favorites. That being said, everything presented here is subject to further change before release.

You've all waited long enough - let’s begin!

Hail Tenno!

It’s been awhile since we updated you on the state of Arbitrations back in April. Listening to feedback from those changes, one recurring theme was that the mode doesn’t feel rewarding enough (unless you’re playing a certain mission type, that is...) - so we dug into the numbers to see why that may be, and what could be done to improve the game mode overall.

Each of the seven available mission types in Arbitrations ha...

Hail Tenno.

Your path has led here. Prove yourself.

Arbitrations have existed in Warframe for just over 6 months - these endgame mission variations put new twists on our tried-and-true mission formula, offering players a level of challenge they cannot find anywhere else in the game. Now that we have had time to observe how these missions fare in players’ hands, we have prepared some tweaks meant to address common complaints with the mode.

The most polarizing of these issues is Arbitrations’ lack of revives. Adding real consequences to death was somewhat of a new sensation in Warframe, and while we would like to retain some of that tension, the fact of the matter is that being dead is not fun. Permadeath also caused issues with host migration, since a dead host may be inclined to leave early, potentially throwing squadmates into disarray. Therefore, we will be implementing a new system where dead players can b...
